For the 17th year in a row, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have won the National Television Awards Best TV Presenter gong.

As they wiped away tears, the pair accepted the award making it, once again, even harder for anyone to beat their record-breaking streak.

‘It’s been a very emotional night tonight, quite a year, quite a tough 12 months, so winning this means a lot,’ said Ant, subtly referencing his decision to enter rehab and later end his 12-year marriage.

‘I would personally like to thank family and friends, I love you and thank you, thank you for your support, and thank you to you, little guy,’ he joked, talking to Dec.

‘I love you, Dec, let’s not cry,’ he then laughed.


‘It has been quite the year,’ said Dec, ‘but this tops it of.

‘It is really appreciated, possibly this year more than any other.’
