Alexis Sanchez looks set to make his Manchester United debut after he was spotted boarding a plane ahead of the side’s FA Cup clash with Yeovil.
The Red Devils announced that they had completed the signing of
Sanchez on Monday evening in a deal which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan head in
the opposite direction to Arsenal.
Sanchez has not yet been seen in training with his team-mates at
Carrington but the 29-year-old forward was pictured on his way to Huish
Park on Friday morning.
Jose Mourinho has confirmed that the Chilean would be in his squad
for the match – the likes of Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja
Matic, Sergio Romero and Ander Herrera were also seen boarding the plane.
Sanchez joined a number of United’s first-team stars on the flight
but Jose Mourinho revealed that he would rest several players for the
fourth round tie.
It’s understood Angel Gomes was on board the plane and the
17-year-old attacking midfielder could be in line to make his FA Cup
debut.
Gomes, who signed his first professional contract at Old Trafford in
December, has made one appearance for the Red Devils in the Premier
League.
Asked about United’s clash with Yeovil, Mourinho said: ‘We want to win, we know what cups are.
‘United played I think a couple of years ago at Yeovil and they know the difficulties they felt, so we have to go with a very strong team.
‘We are going to rest a couple of players, we have also a couple with little problems.
‘We want to try to resolve to have them without problems for the next matches coming in February, Premier League and also Champions League, but apart from that we go with a very strong team.
