Pogba started in United’s match with Tottenham but the midfielder was largely ineffectual and replaced in the 63rd minute as Mourinho’s men suffered a 2-0 defeat at Wembley.

The Frenchman was involved in a heated exchange with Mourinho on the sidelines before his substitution and has now lost his place in United’s starting XI.

Scott McTominay has come in to replace Pogba at Old Trafford, while Anthony Martial has also dropped to the bench for the Premier League clash.

Phil Jones is suffering with an illness and the England defender has been replaced by Marcos Rojo alongside Chris Smalling in central defence.


Despite Mourinho signing a new long-term deal at Old Trafford last month, a number of United fans are calling for him to be sacked after dropping Pogba.
