A number of Arsenal fans criticised the club’s official account for brutally cropping out Alexandre Lacazette from a photograph of their star attack.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang makes his debut against the Toffees after being named in Arsene Wenger‘s starting XI and will be desperate to bring his telepathic understanding with Henrikh Mkhitaryan from their Borussia Dortmund days to north London.

In the week leading up to the Emirates clash, Arsenal supporters had been sharing a picture of Lacazette, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil with the abbreviation ‘LMAO’.

Lacazette, though, will have to wait for his chance to play with Arsenal’s £56million January signing Aubameyang.

The Frenchman must settle for a place on the bench, while Alex Iwobi continues his run in the team.


Asked if he has had to reassure Lacazette over his importance at the club earlier this week, Wenger responded: ‘I don’t reassure anybody.

‘It is a competitive sport and you must fight for your places.

‘You have to show them respect and they have to accept it is a competitive world.’
